This is the frontispiece lithograph of Chagall's famous 'Ceiling of the Paris Opera' litho book. The lithograph was put to the stone by Chagall's engraver, assistant and friend, Charles Sorlier under the supervision of the artist. Eventhough none of these lithographs have been catalogued as signed by the artist, a number of these have been signed later by Chagall. The signature is in charcoal in the lower right.
